Light Vehicle Inspection Checklist

Use this light vehicle inspection checklist to support daily pre start checks and ongoing fleet maintenance. Sections cover vehicle details and service history, exterior and body condition, visibility and mirrors, lights and indicators, tires and wheel fittings, brakes and park brake, steering and horn, wipers and washer fluid, engine and fluids including coolant, clutch, power steering and brake fluid, battery and leaks, safety equipment such as first aid kit, sharps kit, fire extinguisher and water, PPE and tools including jack and wheel brace, cargo barriers, tow bar, roof or ladder racks and load security, documentation and registration, and general condition. Record defects with comments and photos, escalate issues to the fleet manager, and capture signatures to confirm completion.
