Use this steel installation and pre-start checklist to prepare sites and crews before structural steel work. Capture project details and photos, confirm steel and hardware deliveries, and verify slab conditions including levels and termite barrier. Check site readiness such as power, temporary fencing, amenities, and water. Plan deliveries and lifting, noting access constraints and overhead powerlines and whether a franna is required. Validate installation quality by confirming plumb columns, pinned studs, anchor bolts, level beams, correct bolt connections, and welded cleats for overhangs. Record any rectification, leave the site clean, and keep a complete pre-start record for safety and compliance.
