Fall Protection Equipment Inspection Checklist
by Dayna Neal, from the Community
Use this fall protection equipment inspection checklist to assess full body harnesses, lanyards (single and dual), self-retracting lifelines, tie-off adaptors, hooks/carabiners, and ascenders before work at height. Verify labels and tags, check hardware for damage, corrosion, cracks, sharp edges, and proper operation, and inspect webbing for cuts, frays, broken fibers, stitches, tears, abrasions, mold, or burns. Confirm SRL function, lock and retraction, and document any defects, corrective actions, and removal from service. Capture signatures to complete the inspection and improve safety compliance.
