Goods Vehicle Inspection Checklist

This goods vehicle inspection checklist helps drivers and inspectors assess the roadworthiness of HGVs and fleet vehicles. It covers cab condition, mirrors and visibility, windscreens and wipers, seat belts, controls and horns, steering, service and parking brakes, pressure warnings, and safety equipment. Ground-level and under-vehicle checks include chassis, exhaust emissions, hubs, axle alignment, couplings, landing legs, spray suppression, electrical wiring, fuel and oil leaks, suspension and wheel bearings. It also includes wheels and tyres by axle, lights, indicators and reflectors, speed limiter, load securing and hydraulic equipment, and brake performance recording.
