Use this engine room fire hazard inspection checklist to assess fire risks aboard vessels. Inspect fuel lines and fittings to main and auxiliary engines, verify shielding on high-pressure fuel oil pipes, check fire dampers and alarms, and confirm fixed CO2 systems and A60 fire doors are in good condition. Review cleanliness of the ECR and ER, ensure no oil-soaked insulation, and identify leaks in tanks, pumps, hoses, and fittings. Evaluate insulation on hot surfaces and components such as turbochargers, exhaust and steam pipes, purifiers, heat exchangers, and bellows to eliminate hotspots.
