Equipment Checks for Electric Baggage Tractors (EBT)
by Gary Thistlethwaite, from the Community
Use this checklist to perform equipment checks on electric baggage tractors (EBT) used for airport ground handling. Capture site, inspection ID, date, inspector, location, asset ID, and hours. Verify front and rear tow hitch locking, bodywork, towing hitch and safety chain, glass, wipers, wheels and tyres, charging plug, battery cover, mirrors, lights and beacon, and emergency stop buttons. Confirm the cab is free of FOD, steering and controls function, foot and hand brakes operate, console lighting and rear-view mirror are in good order. Photograph any defects, remove unserviceable units from use, and notify a line manager.
