Passenger Boarding Stairs Equipment Checks
by Gary Thistlethwaite, from the Community
Use this checklist to conduct pre use inspections of passenger boarding stairs used in airport ground handling. Verify bodywork, steps, rubber protectors, towbars and locking pins, braking systems, remote control, fuel filler caps, safety rails, stabilisers, wheels and tyres, lighting and beacons, security tensors, and emergency stop buttons. Capture photos of defects, remove unsafe units from service, and report to a line manager. Suitable for ground support teams to standardize equipment checks and improve ramp safety and compliance.
