Stand Alone Survey - MDU (Multi-Dwelling Units)
by Nigel Buxton, from the Community
This stand-alone MDU survey checklist supports planning fiber-to-the-building deployments for multi-dwelling units. Record project identifiers and site details, including PON reference, building name and address, and onsite contacts. Cover external works such as overhead spans, pole testing (DP/CP), duct requirements (54 mm and 96 mm across soft, footway, and carriageway), chambers, and traffic management. Document Openreach lead-in checks (test rodding, roping, blockages, A55), and any additional network sections tested. For the internal survey, capture comms room availability, number of floors and apartments, risers and riser cupboards, drilling needs, internal fiber cable sizes and lengths, and any tray or trunking. Attach unannotated photos throughout to support installation planning and validation.
