FTTH Point of Work Risk Assessment for Streetworks
by Andy Holland, from the Community
This FTTH point of work risk assessment supports telecom streetworks crews in planning and controlling tasks on public roads. Record site details, road speed limit, vehicle and pedestrian flow, and site features such as crossings or schools. Confirm availability of Safety at Streetworks guidance and vehicle beacons. Select controls for task duration (mobile, short, or standard works) with appropriate signing, lighting, and guarding. Capture checks for opened pits, log GDU readings, and ensure continuous monitoring. Add pre-setup and setup photos, contractor information, and complete operative and supervisor sign-offs.
