Use this semi-annual preventive maintenance checklist to keep fire and non-fire doors and windows in safe, compliant working order. Steps include removing unapproved hold-open devices, verifying hang, swing, and latching, testing panic hardware and locks, checking door coordinators and magnetic releases, inspecting for damage, and lubricating hinges and friction points. For windows, inspect glazing, seals, weather proofing, slides, and rollers, and lubricate as needed. Record results and report issues per site procedures.
