Essential Property Information Checklist
by Richard Dempsey, from the Community
This Essential Property Information checklist helps building owners and managers capture critical details about a property for safer operations and compliance. Record access arrangements, fire brigade overrides, utility isolation points for water, gas, and electricity, fire escapes, CCTV and DVR locations, lift details and auto dialers, gates and override procedures, roof access and safety systems, gutters, and communal heating systems. Assess fire safety assets including panels, emergency lighting, smoke vents, extinguishers, dry and wet risers, hose reels, sprinklers, and passive fire protection. Document building composition such as height and presence of metal or wood cladding.
