Verify occupancy limits and the maintenance of critical fire safety installations including exit signs and emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, hose reels, detection and alarm systems, evacuation systems, sprinklers, hydrants, and pump-sets. Assess stairwell pressurisation, smoke and heat ventilation, standby power, and emergency lift controls. Record critical defects and housekeeping issues. Plan and document evacuation procedures, training and drills, appoint fire safety advisers, and maintain approvals, certificates, occupier statements, and record security, including requirements for budget accommodation.
