Quarry Geotechnical Inspection Checklist (Monthly)

by Andy Coe, from the Community

Downloads: 20+

This monthly quarry geotechnical inspection checklist helps supervisors assess the safety of haul roads and edge protection in sand and gravel operations. Verify compliance with development schemes and tipping rules, check stand-off distances to faces, boundaries, and water bodies, and look for potholes, surface deterioration, cracks, and washouts. Confirm continuous safety bunds, adequate haul road width, and clear drainage blankets, drains, and culverts. Inspect edge protection heights, bund integrity, dredger working areas for stand-off and material behind bunds, and the adequacy of temporary edge protection during soil movements. Capture issues, recommend remedial actions, note items of concern, flag defects requiring geotechnical specialist notification, and complete sign-off.
