Standard 18 Monthly Quarry Geotechnical Inspection

This Standard 18 monthly inspection checklist supports geotechnical reviews of active sand and gravel tips and quarry stockpiles, both processed and unprocessed. It helps assess compliance with height limits, access and loading controls, overhangs, crest cracking, water ingress and ponding, settlement behind crests, side-slope bulging, toe slumping or movement, ramp gradients and protection, foundation movement, unexpected standing water, scour from uncontrolled discharge, seepage, and blocked drains or culverts. Record observations, note defects that require geotechnical specialist notification, recommend remedial actions, and complete sign-off.
