Longhole Drilling Pre-Blast Inspection Checklist
by Jenny Cowie, from the Community
This mining checklist supports safe, compliant pre-blast preparation for longhole drilling in stopes. It helps crews verify that gear is removed from headings, mucking wedges are positioned, and services are pulled back above and below the blast. It guides checks that all holes match the print, BT holes are flagged and inspected, and the inverse is probed, cleaned, and mapped. Supervisors and engineers can confirm results have been communicated, powder is ordered, electrical service to fans is checked, required silnuts or barricades are in place for open holes, and the central blast line meets standard. Includes sign-offs for Cell Supervisor, Boart Supervisor, and Planner.
