Restaurant Kitchen Safety and Cleaning Checklist
by Steve McCans, from the Community
Use this restaurant kitchen checklist to audit safety and cleanliness across back-of-house areas. Verify fire extinguisher and Ansul system tags, hood vent cleaning stickers, and protective caps. Inspect grills and fryers including fronts, behind units, floors, plug outlets, and surrounding walls. Record towel and linen practices, including whether a linen service is used and how disposables are stored. Standardize daily and weekly checks, document nonconformities, and assign follow-up actions to keep food prep areas compliant and ready for service.
