This nursery-focused kitchen safety checklist helps staff audit daily food hygiene and health and safety controls across the site. It covers bin yard cleanliness, team areas and wash hand basins, uniform and laundry segregation, dishwasher temperature, food labeling and date control, temperature control, and overall equipment cleanliness. It includes checks for floor and wall junctions, hand contact points, chopping boards, knife storage, raw preparation areas, PPE availability, color coded cloths and tools, decanting from external packaging, glass storage, airtight storage for opened dry goods, and equipment maintenance. It also verifies probe availability and use, handwashing practices, prevention of cross contamination including E. coli control, and key fire safety items such as clear escape routes, boiler room standards, serviced extinguishers, and evacuation notices. Documentation checks include due diligence, risk assessments, COSHH, pest control actions, and EHO visit records, with auditor and manager sign offs.
