This Health and Safety Fire Checklist helps teams in care homes, HMOs, and supported living settings verify critical fire and safety controls. Inspect smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and emergency lighting; confirm weekly panel tests and fault status; and review policies for health and fire safety. Capture checks for PAT testing, first aid supplies, evacuation routes and plans, and general hazards, including clutter, damp, condensation, and blocked exits. Record servicing of lifts, hoists, and bed equipment, assess water safety and temperature scald risks, and note near misses or incidents to report and follow up.
