Defibrillator Check: Monthly AED Maintenance
by David Williams, from the Community
Use this monthly AED checklist to ensure your defibrillator is ready for emergencies. Confirm the unit is stored in the correct location, the status indicator shows OK, and troubleshoot any warning icons. Check that electrode pads and spares are in date, the battery or charge-pak is serviceable, and the first responder kit and rescue mask are present and sealed. Inspect the device for cleanliness and damage, record findings, and schedule replacements as needed.
