Medication Administration Competency Assessment CM14
by Swallowfields Aimscare, from the Community
This CM14 template supports care providers in assessing a care worker’s competence to administer medications safely. It guides supervisors through checks on policy and training compliance, preparation and infection control, consent and mental capacity, selection and preparation of medicines using the MAR, administration practices aligned with the 6 Rights, and respectful, person-centered support. It also covers record keeping, stock control, ordering, receipt and disposal, correct storage and temperature monitoring, handling non‑prescribed medicines, and accessing advice and information. The assessment concludes with outcomes, actions or exceptions, and signatures with a review date.
