Subcontractor Checklist for Offshore Wind Safety
by Davy Depoorter, from the Community
This subcontractor checklist supports safe offshore wind operations at the Thornton Bank wind farm. Use it to brief subcontractors before departure, during crew transfer, and on the turbine or offshore transformer station. It covers PPE verification including life jackets, harnesses, fall arrest lanyards, and radios, as well as radio login codes and emergency communications. It reinforces lifting restrictions without proper training, vessel induction completion, hatch and lifesaving equipment awareness, and nacelle emergency escape procedures. It also includes housekeeping, daily waste removal to shore, status updates, and working hour limitations.
