This STEMC Field Observation checklist supports utility field crews in assessing safety and compliance on site. It covers job planning and documented briefings, proper use of PPE (eye, head, hand, FR clothing, footwear, special PPE), and readiness of vehicles and equipment including documentation, wheel chocks, extinguishers, AEDs, first aid and BBP kits, lighting, trailers, grounding, and load security. It also reviews traffic control (signs, cones, flagging), energized work practices and minimum approach distances, general construction and maintenance checks, and climbing and elevated work requirements.
