This Solar PV Technical Survey checklist helps teams capture key site details before installing a photovoltaic system. Record current electrical conditions including service loop, meter photos, earthing and bonding, fuse board compliance, supply phase, and any existing renewables. Plan the new installation by noting roof type and covering, in-roof or on-roof mounting, system size and string count, shading risks and required optimisers. Specify inverter and isolation switch locations, cable runs and distance to the consumer unit, and estimate voltage drop. Confirm battery storage preferences, on/off-grid configuration, building regulation impacts, customer requirements, additional parts, and scaffolding needs.
