Outage Job Briefing Checklist

The Outage Job Briefing template helps electric utility crews plan and execute outage work safely. Document outage location, type, and work details; note wire down hazards; and specify PPE such as rubber gloves, sleeves, arc rated clothing, face and eye protection, and fall protection. Plan traffic control and truck setup, including wheel chocks and outrigger pads, and record preflight tests and special precautions. Verify grounding and energy source controls by confirming de energization, visual opens, testing and grounding, and upstream device non reclosing settings. Assign a designated observer and capture crew member acknowledgments and signatures to ensure shared understanding before work begins.
