Medium Voltage Substation Maintenance Checklist

This checklist guides the safe maintenance and inspection of medium voltage substations, transformers and ground connections. Sections cover technician details, contractor or in house work, photos, general cleaning, cleaning of insulators, exterior cell painting, adjustment of bar connections, lubrication and calibration of disconnect switches, conductance and insulation resistance tests, contact resistance and dielectric strength checks, thermographic inspection, transformation ratio and winding resistance, and grounding resistance measurement. Transformer oil sampling and analysis are included, along with well grounded verification, documentation of findings, corrective actions and signatures, aligned to NEC, NESC and NFPA 70E.
