This checklist helps assess contractor compounds and welfare facilities on construction sites. It covers site security and fencing, electrical safety (external isolators, RCDs, fuses, labelled and locked boards, portable equipment checks, cable condition), fire protection (extinguishers, blankets, smoke detectors, assembly point), emergency access, safe access steps and trip hazards, first aiders and stocked boxes, housekeeping and refuse removal, vermin barriers, welfare provisions (drying rooms, hot and cold drinking water, securely fitted heaters, anchored tea urns, showers), required documentation on display (F10, Health and Safety Law poster, insurance, CPHS plan), cleanliness and cleaning regime, adequate toilets and washbasins with soap and towels, wet weather gear, injury treatment arrangements, incident reporting and records, and sign off.
