Health and Safety Induction Checklist

This health and safety induction checklist helps standardize onboarding for employees and contractors on any worksite. It covers key topics including alarms and evacuation procedures; locations of fire extinguishers, hoses, blankets, first aid kits, defibs, and first aiders; site speed limits and parking; site rules such as smoking, exclusion zones, and PPE; incident, near-miss, and hazard reporting processes; hazard registers and controls; hazardous substances with inventories and SDS; competency assessments for SOPs/JSAs; where and when PPE must be worn and stored; equipment training, fit testing, and replacement schedules; the organization’s health and safety policy and manual; and worker participation through engagement, toolbox meetings, roles, and responsibilities.
