Daily PM Checklist for Drill Rig Maintenance

Perform this daily preventive maintenance checklist for drill rigs prior to operation. Verify engine oil, radiator and hydraulic levels; inspect hoses and couplings for leaks and wear; test all safety and kill switches; secure loads, guards and cover plates; grease the kelly bar; check battery security, terminals and corrosion; assess fan belt tension and wear; look for hydraulic, gear, engine, coolant and fuel leaks; tighten loose bolts; confirm gauges for temperature, voltage and oil pressure; check hoisting cable safety latches; inspect the exhaust; and confirm all guards are reinstalled after maintenance. Record approvals and the technician performing maintenance.
