This DCU inspection and clearance checklist helps supervisors and auditors verify that decontamination units are safe, clean, and compliant before use. Review gas and electrical safety certificates, confirm RCD protection and earthing, check mains or self-contained water supply, and validate air clearance tests. Inspect cleanliness of all compartments, renew water filters, manage wastewater disposal, and confirm generator operation if fitted. Ensure the unit is secured when unoccupied, a carbon monoxide alarm is installed, and operatives wear appropriate PPE and RPE. Capture unit ID, location, and sign-offs.
