Adiabatic Installation Checklist for HVAC Condensers
by Sarah Webb, from the Community
This adiabatic installation checklist helps HVAC and refrigeration teams plan and commission adiabatic control panels for air‑cooled condensers. It covers electrical supply from distribution boards (BS 7671), main breaker space, cable routes and fire‑wall penetrations; control panel placement, supports, IP55 protection, air probe location, and overspray risks; drainage for purge bleeds; MCW water supply with NRV and isolation, pressure requirements (target ~3 bar or use break tank), soft water considerations, insulation, fire‑stopping, materials and pipe size; measured pipe runs from panel to condensers; working at height and frost protection (heater tape). Use it to document site conditions, take photos, and ensure a compliant, safe setup.
