Use this quick checklist to inspect heavy vehicle air brakes in under five minutes. Confirm pressure builds to 85 to 100 PSI within 45 seconds, compressor cut in above 100 PSI and cut out between 120 and 130 PSI. Check for air leakage with and without pedal application and ensure loss stays within limits. Verify the low air warning activates around 65 PSI plus or minus 10 PSI. Test that the parking brake pops out between 20 and 40 PSI, the parking brake holds against engine tug at 800 to 1000 RPM, and the service brake stops the truck at low speed.
