Goods Vehicle Inspection and Rectification Report
by Leonard Marinel, from the Community
This goods vehicle inspection and rectification report template is designed for HGV operators and workshops to document roadworthiness checks and repairs. It covers vehicle identification, odometer reading, fluid levels, tyres, brakes across all axles, lights and markers, mirrors and glass, steering and suspension, chassis and body condition, electricals, air and fuel systems, exhaust, couplings and fifth wheel, speedometer and tachograph, and brake performance. It includes sections for defects found, repairs completed, comments, tyre sizes and tread depth, and final drive. Mechanic and foreman sign-offs confirm inspections follow the DVSA testers manual and that safety defects are corrected before returning to service. Notes remind hauliers of responsibility for trailer king pin inspections. Use this checklist to maintain compliance and keep vehicles safe and roadworthy.
