CSUSA Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist
by William Witts, from the Community
This CSUSA vehicle safety inspection checklist helps teams assess key areas of roadworthiness and housekeeping for fleet vehicles. Review seat belts, brakes, steering, horn, heater and defroster, tires and rotation, exhaust, wipers, and all lights including headlights, indicators, brake, tail, reverse, flashers, and instrument panel. Inspect glass, windshield, and mirrors. Verify safety equipment such as first aid kit, eyewash, ladders, fire extinguisher, roadside and accident kits, and driver alert sticker. Check organization and securement of parts, tools, supplies, and tanks, plus overall interior and exterior cleanliness. Capture vehicle details including make and year, odometer, VIN, asset number, inspection date, location, inspector name, and signature.
