This A13 Crew Familiarisation checklist guides new yacht crew through critical safety and security induction. It covers 24-hour onboarding before sailing, including muster list, muster station and duties, alarm signals, nearby safety equipment, and safe operation of watertight, fire, and weather-tight doors. It includes demonstrations of fire extinguishers, lifejackets, immersion suits, and emergency escape routes. Within seven days, it addresses ship security responsibilities aligned with the Ship Security Plan, access control, MARSEC levels, screening, CCTV, restricted areas, and SSAS activation. Watchkeeping familiarisation includes bridge basics, vessel rounds, mooring and tender checks, and housekeeping and temperature checks. Stage Two within 14 days reinforces use of all firefighting and lifesaving equipment, fixed systems, SOPEP equipment, first aid and medical locations, and responses to fire, medical, man overboard, and pollution incidents. References include SOLAS, ISM, COSWP, SMS and onboard policies.
