A-Frame or Flatbed Truck Inspection Checklist
by Brent Walker, from the Community
Use this A-Frame or flatbed truck inspection checklist to conduct thorough pre-shift safety checks. Confirm driver licensing and medical card, current registration and insurance, and that a completed preshift with supervisor sign-off is on file. Review journey management, brake adjustment, toolbox condition, steering and suspension, frame or body damage, tire and wheel condition, clutch and bed operation, and check for fluid leaks. Inspect lifting equipment including line condition (kinks, broken wire, bird caging), hook and block, greased pulleys, and A-frame structure and bolts. Ensure a load chart is present, all controls work properly, the vehicle is clean and cared for, and submit repair requests with photos when needed.
