Rack Integration Quality Control Checklist

This Rack Integration Quality Control Checklist helps AV and communications teams verify every stage of a rack build before deployment. It covers initial checks such as receiving the BOM, approved drawings, delivery tickets, and documentation. Detailed inspections include rack-mounted equipment placement, adapters and supports, consistent hardware and finishes, and proper blanks and vents. Labeling follows Infocomm standards for signal and power cables, with clear equipment and power labeling. Wiring and harnessing best practices address cable routing, dressing, bend radius, service loops, grommets/brush panels, tie-wrap use, terminal blocks, and patch bays. Termination quality is audited for solder, crimp, captive connectors, BNC integrity, and audio shield connections. Power distribution and testing ensure correct switched and unswitched feeds, conditioner use, outlet capacity, and successful power-up. Findings are recorded and escalated to the project manager.
