Meat Department Operational Review Checklist
by Jon Bartlett, from the Community
Use this operational review checklist to assess the performance of a supermarket meat department. Verify base rostering, SMP and ASR routines, gap scans, stock on hand and capacities, and receipting of orders. Plan promotions 14 days out and confirm builds and displays. Review stock rotation, markdown protocols, weekly stocktakes, and investigate dump, adjustments, and reduced to clear reports. Check presentation and planograms, labeling, ticketing, and use of the Meat Quality app and VOC feedback. Confirm food safety records, personal hygiene, and cold chain controls. Evaluate butcher shop coverage, flow guide, core range, trace labels, and stocktake accuracy.
