Fresh at 5 is a daily store readiness audit designed for supermarkets to ensure departments are prepared for peak trade from 5 to 6 pm. Starting at 4 pm, managers check key areas and capture photos for each display to confirm presentation, availability, and fullness. The checklist covers meat cases, produce walls and berry fridges, deli presentation, hot chickens stocked to last until at least 8 pm, milk, ready meals, and both cold and hot spot bakery sections. Results are intended to drive early preparedness and prompt fixes before the after-school rush, with the audit completed and emailed between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
