This checklist helps councils and inspectors assess swimming pool barrier compliance for pools built before 1 September 2008. It aligns with AS1926 1986 and the NSW Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Swimming Pools Regulation 1998. Items include barrier height and clear zones, vertical and horizontal member spacing, ground gaps, strength and rigidity testing with 150N force, windows and doors access controls, gate swing, latch height and self closing performance, boundary fence requirements, and CPR sign placement and legibility. It also notes exemptions under sections 8, 9 and 10 and provides outcomes such as directions, emergency directions, show cause, and issuing a compliance certificate.
