Shop and Workspace Inspection Checklist

This shop and workspace inspection checklist helps evaluate cleanliness, organization, and safety in personal and shared work areas. Verify floors are swept, tool chests and benches are clean, garbage and oily rags are disposed of correctly, and cords and hoses are stored safely. Check spill control, oil recycling, storage of parts and batteries, wash bay housekeeping, and outdoor tidiness. Shop Workplace Inspection Checklist
This shop workplace inspection checklist helps teams assess key safety controls across workshops and maintenance areas. Verify first aid kits are available and stocked, confirm fire extinguishers and eyewash stations are accessible and current, and ensure an emergency plan and service numbers are posted. Inspect lighting, housekeeping, aisles, exits, and spill control. Review outside entrances and walkways for obstructions, and check shop spaces for tripping hazards from cords and mats. Confirm floors are clean, tools are suitable and stored properly, and the tool room is organized. Use this template for regular audits to strengthen compliance and reduce risk.

This parts and services safety checklist helps retail and service departments verify safe, orderly work areas. Inspect aisles and floors for slip, trip, and fall hazards; confirm floor mats are flat and intact; check products are merchandised and stacked securely; and ensure first aid kits are stocked and accessible. Verify fire extinguishers and alarm stations are unobstructed and in good condition, walking surfaces are repaired or made safe, and all exits are clear. Assess tool and equipment condition, availability of appropriate PPE, and that staging areas are clear and propane cages are secure.
