This POSHO certification checklist helps verify residential housing meets 15 FAM 252.5 before occupancy. It guides inspectors to remove or properly vent unvented gas water heaters; confirm combustion heating systems are checked by qualified technicians; ensure pools have compliant barriers and self-latching, lockable gates; install carbon monoxide alarms where combustion sources exist; document electrical grounding below 25 ohms; install GFCIs in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, crawl spaces, near sinks, unfinished basements, and outdoors; provide guardrails and handrails to specified heights; place kitchen fire extinguishers; install smoke alarms in sleeping rooms, corridors, and stairways; ensure fire protection systems are operational with testing records; and meet additional high-rise apartment requirements with proper documentation in the RPA property record.
