Use this checklist to inspect parking lots and passenger loading zones for safety and accessibility. Verify car and van space dimensions, adequate counts and dispersal of accessible spaces, and that routes follow the shortest accessible path. Confirm access aisle width, length, location on the passenger side for angled bays, level surfaces, and slopes not exceeding 2 percent. Check signage with the International Symbol of Accessibility and van accessible labels. Review vertical clearances, loading zone length and width, adjacency to accessible routes, and markings that discourage parking in aisles. Note curb ramps, wheel stops, and surface conditions.
