Inspecteurs worden door vaste controlepunten geleid, waaronder toilet, wasbak en doucheafvoer, ventilatieroosters, stopcontacten, vuilnisbakken, stoelen en bedpoten, kasten, magnetron, lockers en planken, lampen, asbak, koelkast, matras en kussens, televisie en radio, verpakkingen zoals tandpastatubes of shampoo, gordijnzomen, raam en kozijnen, verwarming en kleding of schoeisel. De lijst omvat ook controles op linnenaantallen, celinventaris, reinheid en verzegeling van apparatuur. Bevindingen van contrabande kunnen worden vastgelegd, evenals de melding aan de gedetineerde en eventuele rapportage. Een handtekeningveld en versievermelding ondersteunen traceerbaarheid en naleving.
