External Building Facade and Common Area Inspection
by Gareth Youd, from the Community
Perform a structured inspection of external building facades and shared areas to identify hazards, defects, and maintenance needs. This checklist covers pedestrian access and walkways, car parks, boundaries and gates, lighting levels, signage, traffic management, social issues such as vandalism, and vacant unit security. Evaluate facade elements including brickwork, render, cladding, glazing, coping stones, exposed concrete, and roof access and edge protection. Record photos, note issues, and assign corrective actions to streamline property maintenance and keep sites safe and compliant.
