HMO License Inspection Checklist: 3+ Storey
by Hayley Townsend, from the Community
Conduct thorough HMO license inspections for 3+ storey homes with this checklist. Verify required licenses and certificates are on display, including HMO license, gas safety, and EPC. Assess fire safety with Grade A alarm systems, weekly test records, compliant fire doors with closers and seals, keyless exits, protected meters, clear escape routes, and kitchen fire blankets. Review property condition: maintenance issues, working keys, damp, smoke odor, rubbish buildup, garden condition, and potential deposit deductions. Capture meter readings and note if re-inspection is required.
