Use this weekly empty unit inspection checklist to assess the condition and safety of vacant retail or commercial units. Verify cleanliness of walls, floors, ceilings, and windows. Inspect power for exposed wiring, socket damage, and lighting; confirm water is running, pipes are intact, and toilets flush. Check fire safety including alarms, routes and doors, and extinguisher presence and service status. Note if units are being used for storage, capture findings, attach photos, log corrective actions, and sign off to maintain secure, compliant spaces.
