Emergency Lighting Monthly Testing Checklist
by Jane Pinfold, from the Community
Use this checklist to complete monthly emergency lighting tests in workplaces and facilities. Follow BS EN 50172/BS 5266-8 guidance: initiate the test key, set an appropriate timer, verify all fittings illuminate, confirm charging indicators, and note any cleaning or maintenance needs. Schedule tests at the end of the day to allow batteries to recharge overnight. If faults are found, contact a qualified technician to diagnose and fix issues. This template supports safer evacuations and ongoing compliance.
