Domestic Water Management Audit Checklist

Water Temperature Tests for Sentinel Points
Use this monthly template to log hot and cold water temperatures at sentinel points across your site, including outlets closest to and farthest from the source, selected random outlets, mains supply, water tanks, and calorifier flow and return. It guides teams to run water for one minute before testing and to record results for manager review and regulatory inspection. Thresholds are aligned to common practice, with hot water above 50 degrees C and below 60 degrees C, and cold water below 20 degrees C. Ideal for hotels and hospitality facilities, this checklist supports Legionella risk management, compliance, and consistent maintenance records.

Legionella Risk Assessment Checklist
Conduct a comprehensive legionella risk assessment for domestic properties and water systems. Follow prompts to record property type, hot and cold water system details, and check critical controls: cold water below 20 degrees C, hot water stored at 60 degrees C and delivered above 50 degrees C. Inspect and photograph storage tanks, verify lids and cleanliness, insulate where needed, and note defects and responsible persons. Review boiler settings, flush little-used outlets weekly, and clean and descale shower heads at least every six months. Address dead legs and manage unoccupied periods by routine flushing or draining. Review at least annually and align actions with HSE L8 guidance.
