A practical maintenance checklist for calorifiers and heat exchangers used in building services. Covers quarterly, half yearly, and annual tasks: clean strainers, log hot water storage temperatures to 60 C, check and recalibrate thermostats and primary controls, verify valve and draincock operation, inspect manhole covers and connections for leaks, blow down to remove sediment, and record outlet temperatures on a rotating schedule. Annual activities include testing safety valves and thermostatic controls, inspecting mountings and insulation, draining and opening units for internal inspection, descaling, pressure testing coils, reinstating, recommissioning, and disinfecting in line with BS6700. Includes sections for warning notices, engineer comments, further works, and sign-off to document compliance and site handover.
