This BC Parks trail assessment checklist helps rangers and trail stewards record park, area, date, personnel, and trail details. Capture trail geometry, corridor width, gradient, position on slope, curvature, and surface conditions such as bedrock, gravel, soil, roots, mud, or artificial materials. Document surrounding landforms and water features, photos, and built facilities including stairs, bridges, boardwalks, and ramps. Note IMBA features, materials used, and evaluate trees, shrubs, groundcover, and invasive species to guide maintenance and safety.
